By placing an order with Notmydress, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions and Rental Agreement.

1. Rental Agreement

By renting a garment from Notmydress, you acknowledge that:

  • All garments remain the property of Notmydress at all times.
  • The renter is responsible for the garment from the time it is delivered until it is returned.
  • The garment is rented for one event or personal use only.
  • The renter agrees to comply with all policies outlined in these Terms & Conditions.

A booking is confirmed once full payment has been received.

2. Rental Period

The rental period begins on the delivery date and ends on the return date specified in the booking confirmation.

Typically:

  • Garments arrive 1–3 days before your event.
  • Garments must be returned the next working day after your event using the provided return bag.

The renter is responsible for ensuring the garment is returned on time.

3. Pricing

Rental prices typically range between:

$40 – $75 per garment

All prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).

4. Shipping

Shipping costs are charged at checkout.

Standard shipping rates:

Standard: $17
Rural: $22

Shipping includes:

  • Courier delivery
  • A prepaid return bag

Customers must ensure the correct delivery address is entered when booking.

If an incorrect address is provided, Notmydress is not responsible for delivery delays.

5. Returns

Garments must be returned:

  • In the prepaid return bag provided
  • By the return date stated in the booking

The renter must ensure the parcel is lodged with the courier on the return date.

Failure to return the garment on time may result in late fees.

6. Late Returns

If a garment is returned late, the renter agrees to pay a late fee of $25 per day until the garment is returned.

Late returns may also result in additional charges if they impact another customer's booking.

7. Accidental Damage Protection (optional)

Accidental Damage Protection for a non-refundable fee of $12 per garment. This protection must be selected and paid for at the time of booking.
If purchased, Accidental Damage Protection covers minor accidental damage that may occur during the rental period. This may include minor stains requiring additional cleaning, small fabric pulls, loose seams, or minor repairs such as zip or strap fixes.
Accidental Damage Protection is intended to cover minor and repairable damage only.
This protection does not cover:
Excessive, significant, or irreparable damage
Permanent stains that cannot be removed
Damage caused by misuse, negligence, or intentional acts
Alterations made to the garment
Loss or theft of the garment
Failure to return the garment
If a garment is lost, stolen, not returned, or damaged beyond repair, the renter will be responsible for the full replacement cost of the garment, regardless of whether Accidental Damage Protection was purchased.

8. Cleaning & Minor Damage

All garments are professionally cleaned between rentals.

If Garment Protection is not selected, customers may be charged the cost of additional cleaning or minor repairs if required after the rental.

Examples where cleaning charges may apply include:

  • Fake tan transfer
  • Food or drink spills
  • Mud or heavy staining
  • Makeup stains requiring professional cleaning
  • Strong perfume residue

Cleaning costs will reflect the actual cleaning required.

9. Major Damage

Customers are responsible for damage beyond normal wear.

Examples of major damage include:

  • Rips or tears in fabric
  • Broken zippers
  • Burn marks
  • Permanent stains
  • Missing parts such as straps or belts
  • Significant fabric damage

If damage occurs, Notmydress will assess the garment and determine whether repair or replacement is required.

Charges may include:

  • Professional repair costs
  • Loss of rental income while the garment is being repaired
  • Full replacement cost if the garment is beyond repair

Garment Protection does not cover major damage.

10. Lost or Unreturned Garments

If a garment is:

  • Lost
  • Stolen
  • Not returned

The renter will be responsible for paying the full retail value of the garment.

If a garment is not returned within 7 days, it may be considered permanently lost.

11. Garment Care

Customers must treat garments with care during the rental period.

Please avoid:

  • Excessive fake tan transfer
  • Heavy makeup contact
  • Mud or outdoor damage
  • Sharp jewellery that may pull fabric

Customers must not:

  • Wash the garment
  • Dry clean the garment
  • Attempt repairs
  • Alter the garment
  • Put pins into fabric

Improper care may result in additional charges.

12. Fit & Sizing

While we provide sizing information where possible, perfect fit cannot be guaranteed.

No refunds are provided for:

  • Fit issues
  • Change of mind
  • Event cancellations

13. Cancellations

Cancellation policies may apply depending on the timing of the cancellation.

If a garment becomes unavailable due to damage or late return from a previous renter, Notmydress will attempt to provide a replacement garment or offer store credit or a refund.

14. Payment Authorisation

By placing an order, the renter authorises Notmydress to charge their payment method for:

  • Rental fees
  • Shipping fees
  • Late fees
  • Cleaning charges (if applicable)
  • Repair costs
  • Replacement costs

15. Liability

Notmydress is not responsible for:

  • Courier delays
  • Lost parcels after confirmed delivery
  • Event cancellations
  • Fit issues

Garments are rented at the customer’s own risk.

16. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.

Any disputes may be resolved through the New Zealand Disputes Tribunal.
